1. Who is responsible?

KIVORA is a private, non-commercial passion project. The person responsible for this website and for any data processing described below (the "controller" within the meaning of the EU General Data Protection Regulation, GDPR) is:

2. What this website does — and doesn't do

• This website does not use cookies, analytics or tracking tools.
• All fonts, images and videos are hosted locally — no data is sent to Google or other font/CDN providers when you view this page.
• Nothing is sold on this website. There is no shop, no payment processing and no account system.

3. Email updates (newsletter signup)

If you sign up for development updates, we store the email address you provide. We use it exclusively to send you occasional updates about the development of KIVORA — for example progress insights, new Vora reveals, community questions and news about a possible crowdfunding campaign (e.g. Kickstarter).

Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR), which you give by ticking the consent checkbox before submitting the form. You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future — via the unsubscribe link contained in every email, or informally by writing to support@ki-vora.com. After withdrawal, your email address is deleted from the mailing list.

Double opt-in: after signing up you first receive a confirmation email. Your address is only added to the list once you click the confirmation link. Without confirmation, no updates are sent.

Processing: signups are processed and stored directly on our own web server (hosted by checkdomain GmbH, Germany — see section 5). No external newsletter provider is involved. We store your email address, your optional first name, the time of your consent and confirmation, and the IP address used at signup (as proof of consent, Art. 7 (1) GDPR).

Storage period: for as long as you remain subscribed. Proof of your consent (timestamp of signup and confirmation) is retained as long as required by law.

4. Contact by email

If you write to support@ki-vora.com, we use the data you provide (your email address and the content of your message) solely to answer your enquiry (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR — legitimate interest in responding to messages addressed to us). Emails are deleted once the conversation is concluded, unless legal retention periods apply.

5. Hosting / server log files

When you visit this website, the hosting provider automatically processes technical data (e.g. IP address, date and time, requested page, browser type) in server log files to deliver the page securely and reliably (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). Hosting provider: checkdomain GmbH, Große Burgstraße 27/27a, 23552 Lübeck, Germany — data is processed in Germany.

6. Links to external platforms

This website links to our presences on external platforms — currently YouTube, TikTok, Kickstarter, itch.io and IndieDB. These are plain links, not embeds: no content, script or tracker from these platforms is loaded while you are on ki-vora.com, and no data is transferred to them by simply visiting this site. Only when you click such a link and the platform opens does that provider process your data under its own privacy policy. This website itself does not use cookies, which is why no cookie banner is required.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

• access the personal data we hold about you (Art. 15),
• have inaccurate data corrected (Art. 16),
• have your data deleted (Art. 17),
• restrict processing (Art. 18),
• data portability (Art. 20),
• object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21),
• withdraw any consent you have given, at any time (Art. 7 (3)),
• lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77).
